DIVE SASK

It was an exciting weekend for all of our Saskatchewan Divers who qualified to compete at the Junior Elite Nationals in Winnipeg July 22-24, but 3 divers came up big, winning medals and breaking records.  The top Saskatchewan diver was Rylan Wiens of Saskatoon who won a Gold medal on the 10m Platform, setting a new Saskatchewan record and receiving perfect 10’s from the judges on his first dive in Finals.  Bjorn Markentin of Regina won a Bronze medal on the 3m and also set a new Saskatchewan record which had been set by Sam Valentine back in 2010.  Jamie Spilchak of Saskatoon was the third Team Sask athlete to win a medal – a Bronze on 1m.  Jamie and Rylan also won a Bronze medal on 3m Synchro.  Congratulations to all of our Saskatchewan divers who qualified to attend the Jr Development Nationals and the Jr Elite Nationals.
