Dive Sask Inc. carries a comprehensive insurance package which covers ALL REGISTERED MEMBERS and ALL SANCTIONED ACTIVITIES of these members (please see the Sanction Policy).
The insurance coverage is a National program of Diving Canada purchased through Gameday Insurance. Four types of insurance programs are in place:
General Liability $5 million
Participant Liability $5 million
Errors & Omissions Liability $3 million
Accident Insurance Medical & Dental Various Limits
NEW in 2024: Abuse Liability
Note: all accident claims must be submitted to the Insurer within 30 days so it is important that if a diver is injured and receives medical attention an Incident Report AND Accident Claim form is submitted to Dive Sask well before the 30 days is up. Even if you do not think an insurance claim will be initiated, it is wise to submit the accident claim form in case further medical attention such as physiotherapy is necessary at a later time. Recognizing that it may take longer to get a Physician’s Statement as required on the Accident Claim form, please submit the Incident Form IMMEDIATELY for any type of accident, bodily injury or property damage where a claim may later be filed.
Also, please notify Dive Sask immediately if you foresee a situation where a liability claim could be initiated such as any legal issue or serious complaint.
This is secondary insurance which will take over when other policies which you may hold have been exhausted. It does not cover pre-existing conditions.
